Truth and Ambiguity

Rashomon (1915), based on Ryūnosuke Akutagawa's short story, delves into themes of morality, survival, and the human condition. Set against the backdrop of a deteriorating Kyoto gate, the story examines conflicting perspectives and the ambiguity of truth. The stage design reflects these themes with its decaying wooden structures and scattered foliage, creating an atmospheric representation of decay and moral decline.
